New venue at the Wellington Family Support Hub: 100 Riddiford Street, Newtown - the domino midwives rooms at the back of the Lychgate Centre
We greatly appreciate a donation if you are able to and our suggested koha is $20-$40. If you are on a low income or a community services card holder we do not charge for our services. We are registered under the charities act as 'The Wellington Breastfeeding Trust" and receive no ongoing funding.
At Newtown Breastfeeding Support Centre you can see an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) for help and support with breastfeeding difficulties. It is also a place where you and your baby can relax over some morning tea and chat to other parents experiencing similar things to you.
We are open one morning a week during term time. We encourage you to spend time at the centre before and after your appointment, to relax with other parents in the comfortable waiting room.
We offer services in both English and Spanish. Please feel free to bring along a family member or friend to translate if you speak a different language. If language is going to be a problem and you don't have anyone who can translate, please get in touch and we will do our best to help you. The Wellington Somali Council can provide a translator for Somali women.
